Brian was such a lovely man with an aura of calmness that put you at ease. He always had a kind word and more often than not, a terrible joke which he would laugh at. A sort of chortle with the shoulders going up and down was how I remembered it, usually whilst contemplating how to fend off an opposition bowler. Brian never had a bad word to say about anybody and was universally admired and respected by everyone who had the privilege to know him. He will be missed but not forgotten.
